A Truly British Based Education

Following the renowned International Cambridge Programme, your child will get to experience a broad and balanced education setting them up for a successful path in higher education, work and life.

Multi-sensory & Experiential Learning

We believe in hands on learning through multi-sensory and experiential techniques such as games, technology & visual aids, as well as working with the more traditional textbooks.

This ensures that the children develop a good understanding of the world through exciting and inspiring learning opportunities.

Subject-Specific Teaching

From Year 3, each subject is taught by subject-specific trained teachers, providing depth and passion to each subject.  We have passionate subject specific teachers on hand to ignite every child’s curiosity for learning.

Fostering Character Development & Independence

Our core values very much underpin the way in which we teach our children.  Our aim is for our students to leave The Perse as a well-rounded, confident individual who is excited to learn through taking risks and is not being afraid of making mistakes.

Our Core Values are: Intellectual Curiosity & Scholarship, Breadth & Balance, Endeavour & Respect for One Another & Our Environment.

Beyond The Classroom

The Perse values extending learning outside of the classroom through school trips.  This term they will be going to The Red Dot Design Museum, The National Gallery and Chinatown with many more planned throughout the year.

We have a large covered area in the basement for children to let off steam at break and lunch. Whilst The Perse doesn’t have any outdoor space, we fully utilise our surroundings. During double PE lessons children are taken on a short bus ride to The Temasek Club where they partake in swimming lessons taught by qualified swim instructors. When they are not swimming pupils play sport at The Rainforest Hub which is also conveniently situated a 5 minute bus ride away.

Year 1: 1:20 students (max class size 20)
Year 2-6: 1:20-24 students (max class size 24)
At capacity we will be including Teaching Assistants to support the class.

Yes, each child will get 16 lessons of swimming every year. The lessons are taught by qualified swimming instructors at The Temasek Club, a short 5 minute bus ride away. The children are picked up by private bus.

We have a lovely mix of teacher nationalities!

At present we do not have a specific ESL programme. Children must have a good base of speaking and writing (age dependent) in English so that they can access our British Curriculum without struggle.

We are lucky enough to have over 18 different nationalities in the school!

At The Perse children will have daily English, Maths and Mandarin classes. Science is also a very important part of The British Cambridge Curriculum and we therefore have 2 purpose built science labs that children can access from Year 1. They have 2.5hours of science every week! Other subjects include Humanities, Geography, History, Art, Music, PE, Global Perspectives, PSHE and Digital Literacy.

In Year 1 & 2 children will be taught the core subjects by their Form Teacher (English, Maths & Humanities) thereafter they will be taught by Subject Specific Teachers.  From Year 3 each lesson is taught by Subject Specific Teachers.  We hire teachers that are passionate about the subjects they specialise in, which is why we strongly believe that subjects be taught by subject-specific trained teachers, providing depth and passion to each subject.
